The first Caption by Hyatt hotel in Asia Pacific and the Hyatt Centric brand were unveiled in Shanghai
Caption by Hyatt Shanghai Zhongshan Park and Hyatt Centric Shanghai Zhongshan Park both opened in April this year, marking the debut of Caption by Hyatt, Hyatt’s new select-service lifestyle brand, in Asia Pacific, and the group’s twelfth successful launch in Greater China. This is also the official entry of the Hyatt Centric brand into Shanghai, and the fourth Hyatt Centric in Greater China.
Located in the vicinity of the historic Zhongshan Park and the vibrant Yuyuan Road neighborhood, the two new hotels combine Shanghai’s diverse cultural heritage with contemporary sophistication, are ideally designed for both adventurous explorers and in-the-know residents seeking shareworthy experiences in the center of the action.
The hotel has colorful abstract paintings to illustrate the surrounding community elements such as the 12 views of Zhongshan Park and traditional alleys. Flowers and arts decorate throughout the space.
Catering to the lifestyle preferences of the new generation of travellers, the hotel offers a range of high-tech services such as e-key cards, free Wi-Fi, personalized lighting systems, Bluetooth media hubs, high-definition TVs with streaming capabilities, QR code ordering, self-service coffee/tea, self-blended cocktail making facilities and 24-hour self-service takeaway service.
Located on the second floor is Taole Central, the vitality of the hotel. It functions as all-day venue for small business meetings, or for travellers needing a space to work out from. Taole Central also features a selection of locally inspired F&B options, afternoon desserts and pastries, and a grab-and-go market with 24-hour accessibility.
The 24-hour fitness center is equipped with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, including treadmills, bicycle cardio machines, strength machines, elliptical machines and rowing machines.

Hyatt Regency Shanghai Zhongshan Park is inspired by the tailor shops of old Shanghai, with oriental influences and a contemporary twist.
The 262 guest rooms, including 11 suites, feature floor-to-ceiling window. The rooms are stylishly and creatively designed, equipped with modern amenities such as 55-inch HDTV, individual climate control system, mini fridge, bluetooth speaker, coffee machine and Chinese and Western tea making facilities.
The hotel’s restaurant, SCENARIO 1555, adheres to the concept of a Shanghai bistro, using local ingredients and combining classic dishes from Shanghai and the surrounding area. The restaurant has a social function, providing an all-weather space for travelers and locals to meet and mingle.
The hotel offers a variety of venues for meetings, banquets and celebrations. The 400-square-metre Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 250 people and is ideal for large-scale events such as lavish weddings, business events, product launches, etc. The six function rooms range in size from 46 to 240 square meters and can accommodate up to 120 people at a time, as well as for small-scale events such as conferences and training.
The hotel has a 24-hour fitness centre with a range of fully functional fitness equipment and a (not yet open) outdoor swimming pool with a view.
