The popular Netflix series “Emily in Paris” has been renewed for the fifth season, with the promotion video Lily Collins, who plays the titular Emily Cooper can be seen saying, ‘There’s no place like Rome,’ suggesting that Emily may well look to swap the City of Lights permanently for the Italian capital.
This plot twist even prompted French President Emmanuel Macron to express his desire for the series to remain in Paris, because of its role in promoting tourism and image of Paris. To this Roberto Gualtieri, Mayor of Rome responded lightly, “Take it easy; Emily in Rome is perfect.”
No Place Like Rome
Fun trivia aside, as “Emily in Paris” says “Au Revoir” to Paris and “Ciao” to Roma, the award-winning** Plaza Premium Lounges in Rome welcome passengers with their “Proudly Local” offerings of Italian produce and products, from wines and spirits to beverages to revolving art installations.

There are two Plaza Premium Lounges in Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO), one at Terminal 1 and one at at Terminal 3.
Travellers can enjoy classic Roman delicacies like Amatriciana pasta, a historical Roman recipe served at the court of Pope Pius VII; Roman snack “Suppli”, a rustic dish consisting of a ball of risotto with tomato sauce; and “Pizza al taglio”, translated as “pizza by the cut” commonly eaten throughout Italy. These dishes are best paired with an Aperol Spritz or Negroni.
“Maritozzi”, Rome’s most iconic pastry, are brioche buns scented with orange zest, vanilla, and honey, then filled with whipped cream. This classic confection is best gone with the Kir Rome Royal Cockta.
The two lounges are currently promoting ‘Enjoy la dolce vita with “Proudly Local” experience’ until Dec 9th 2024.
