InterContinental Shanghai Pudong sponsored the 2024 Shanghai Sunrise Pairing Ceremony on 9 November 2024.
Shanghai Sunrise is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization committed to creating access to education through scholarships for underprivileged Shanghai youth. Since 1996, the institute has raised 35 million RMB and enabled 3,600 students for high school and university scholarships.
This annual event connects new students with their sponsors and is a longtime tradition.
This year marks a significant milestone as both the InterContinental Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Sunrise celebrate their 28th anniversaries.
In honor of this momentous occasion, the InterContinental Shanghai Pudong provided the venue and a complimentary lunch for attendees. The hotel also featured mascot bears for sale, with the proceeds donated to Shanghai Sunrise.

2024年11月9日，上海锦江汤臣洲际大酒店二楼的汤臣堂济济一堂，充满了爱与希望。
酒店支持赞助了 “Shanghai Sunrise—上海初升的太阳”，（简称上海初阳）年度“结对仪式”，有近200位新一届的受助学生与他们的资助者相聚在这里度过美好而意义非凡的一天。今年是一个重要的里程碑，因为上海锦江汤臣洲际大酒店和上海初阳共同迎来了28周年的庆典。
上海初阳成立于1996年，是一家在隶属于上海市慈善基金会的知名慈善机构，致力于帮助上海家境贫困的青少年走出困境，创造更好的教育和个人发展机会，通过教育改变生活。 每年的“新生结对仪式” 是一个标志性的活动，为资助人和受助学生建立联系，创造沟通交流的机会，关爱他们的成长。
同样创始于1996年的浦东第一家五星级酒店上海锦江汤臣洲际大酒店慷慨赞助了此次结对仪式的场地和午餐，为活动营造一个温馨而有爱的氛围。此外，酒店还借此活动倡导鼓励客人购买酒店吉祥物泰迪小熊，筹集的部分款项将直接用于支持上海初阳的教育基金。
