The Hotel
Hotel Éclat Beijing is a luxury boutique-meets-business hotel with 100 rooms and suites. It appeals to business travellers and tourists alike.
The hotel has artsy interiors and sleek modern design throughout the property.
It pays tribute to art with an incredible collection of fine works in its guestrooms and public areas – more than 100 pieces, including original sculptures and paintings from legendary artists like Salvador Dali (the hotel has the largest collection in Asia!), Andy Warhol, Fan Xiaoyan, Liu Ruowang, Gao Xiaowu, Shen Jingdong, Chen Wenling and many more.
My impression of it began before even setting foot inside this pyramidal amalgamation of steel and glass. This hotel simply sticks out among its surroundings.
The spectacular glass structure provides city views and an environmentally-friendly climate control system in the rooms.
I spotted this rating at Booking.com:
“Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 9.7 for a two-person trip.”
Hotel Éclat Beijing is the recipient of “Best Art Boutique Hotel 2024” by The Best BANG Awards.
The hotel is also for the 4th consecutive year, recognized as one of the Best Hotels in mainland China by the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2024.
Location
The art-focused hotel is located in the Central Business District’s iconic Parkview Green development in Chaoyang. It is within walking distance of parks and embassies; and within ten-minute walk to the Dongdaqiao Metro station. It is about as convenient as it gets for business.
Around a 5-minute stroll from Shi Mao Tian Jie, Hotel Éclat Beijing is around a 10-minute walk from Dongdaqiao Subway Station (Line 6) and around a 5-minute drive to Yong’anli Subway Station (Line 1).
It takes about 10 minutes by car to the bustling Sanlitun Village.
Tian’anmen Square and the CBD are both around a 15-minute car journey away.
Beijing Capital International Airport is around 35 minutes’ drive away. Beiiing Daxing Airport is around 70 minutes’ drive away.
Rooms
The hotel has stylish rooms with high-end pleasantries. Bathrooms come with separate rainforest showers, bathtubs and exclusive Miller Harris London bathroom amenities; harwood floor; and international channel.
A Bang & Olufsen audio system, an Illy coffeemaker, a branded massage chair (some are Panasonics) and an enormous Samsung 3D LCD TV with Blu-Ray DVD player come standard in every room. Not to mention free high-speed wi-fi throughout the property.
Deluxe King Room in which I stayed is inclusive Mini bar with beer except champagne.
The hotel has nine room and suite types, from 35 square meter (115 square feet) Deluxe Rooms up to an enormous, 300 square meter (1,312 square foot) Presidential Suite with a private dining room for up to 22 guests, a huge private terrace including private Lagoon, a sound proofed Karaoke including a very rare Fazioli 212 Piano in the Living room.
Many of the suites are exuberantly, funky themed with unusual decor and have private terraces with plunge pool.
Deluxe and Grand Deluxe Lagoon Suites come with their own outdoor terraces with private Lagoon pools, as does the gorgeous two-bedroom Champs Elysees Suite.
I heard that the Presidential Suite is re-opening soon after its massive renovation.
Dining
Hotel Éclat Beijing has three dining venues (George, Xin Ming Yuen and ITO) serving varied cuisine plus 24-hour room service; and a bar, the George’s Bar.
George’s Restaurant
George’s Restaurant specializes in modern European cuisine. It offers a complimentary buffet breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour drinks for all in-house guests. The restaurant delivers an exceptional dining experience with its signature dish, Beef Tartare, which is prepared at your table to your preference.
Xin Ming Yuen Chinese Restaurant
Xin Ming Yuen, on LG1 of Parkview Green FangCaoDi, blends eastern and western cultures of Hong Kong and Shanghai in its architecture.
Executive Chef Li Cheung offers a variety of authentic Cantonese dishes, from classic delicacies to innovative seafood, from Teochew braised specialties to exquisite dim sum.
ITO Japanese Restaurant
ITO is in Parkview Green FangCaoDi, with a comfortable robatayaki area and exclusive teppanyaki booths that connect the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Head Chef Kalok Wong offers robatayaki, sushi, teppanyaki, and pot dishes.
George’s Bar
George’s Bar is a whisky bar that offers a curated selection of single cask single malt whiskies. The bar has a huge collection of liquors, and a large wine list.
Free evening cocktails are served Tuesday to Saturday for in-house guests.
Bottom Line
While Hotel Éclat Beijing lacks a swimming pool (though some suites do have private pools), it does feature a trendy 24-hour fitness center with free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment, and yoga mats.
Butler and concierge services are also available around the clock, as is room service.
The hotel also offers a good variety of meeting room options, from suites with boardroom tables to the 21st floor Cocoon, a large ballroom area with an on-site pantry kitchen.
Multiple meeting and event spaces are available for rent.
