Conrad Singapore Orchard Manhattan

Manhattan at Conrad Singapore Orchard is a grand hotel bar inspired by the 19th century’s Golden Age of cocktails and fine drinking, with a glamorous yet modern space reminiscent of old New York.

Manhattan exudes an upscale contemporary feel with luxuriously upholstered leather chairs and sofas and walls lined with patterned woven linen.  The openness of the design ensures that every guest entering the door will soak in the theatre of craft bartending.

Featuring over 100 American oak barrels from a small cooperage in Minnesota, the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse is housed here, used to finish whiskies and other spirits, and to age bitters and single-cask cocktails.

In the rickhouse, Manhattan embraces the concept of Solera Aging for its cocktails, a technique initially developed by the Spanish and Portuguese for sherries to maintain consistency over different vintages.

The result is a sophisticated blend of young and old that brings depth, character, complexity, and roundness into your glass.

Other must-tries include a unique solera-aged Negroni and a first-of-its-kind trolley service that elevates the classic Manhattan cocktail by blending rare and house-finished spirits, artisanal vermouths and a unique collection of bitters to each guest’s taste.

Equally noteworthy, a premium ice programme carefully designed to showcase the multitude of rare, house-made and artisanal ingredients in the cocktails. Made from water of the highest quality, the array of high-purity, high-density hand-cut ice offerings ensure flavours take centre stage, enhancing your experience.

Manhattan’s tireless attention to detail also extends to its custom cocktail glasses. Shaken cocktail lovers can sip from the rim of an elegantly striated coupe, while stirred whiskey enthusiasts can imbibe from the depths of one-of-a-kind Nick and Nora styled stemware.

In addition, Manhattan invites guests to get acquainted with the world of American whiskies through its American Whiskey Embassy programme. Putting a spotlight on the great whiskies from the United States of America, the bar team scoured across the world to present a specially curated list of the American spirit.

Thoughtfully and rigorously researched, the growing collection features over 150 bottles of whiskies, including a range of rare and collectible ones. All of which are housed in the Whiskey Glasshouse.

At Manhattan, food isn’t an afterthought. To complement the inspired beverages, chefs reinvent iconic New York gastronomy, serving up gourmet bar bites that reflect New York’s melting pot of cultures.

The St. Louis Pork Ribs ($22) and New York Hot Dogs ($23) are excellent for sharing, as is the Crab ($24) – deep-fried crab tortellini with leek cream cheese and Peking jus.

Other libation-friendly standouts include the Smashed Burger ($34), a succulent double wagyu patty with American cheese, onions, and pickled cucumber, served with straight-cut fries, and the Lobster Mac and Cheese ($46) served with blue cheese, oak-smoked cheddar, taleggio, nacho, and truffle breadcrumbs. The team’s clever interpretation of The Big Apple Cheesecake ($14) pays tribute to the Big Apple.
